chitosan preparations, including those with different molecular weights and degrees of acetylation and the nanofibers produced from them. the ingestion of chitosan and nanofiber with moderate MW and degrees of acetylation results in a significant reduction in oxidative stress in several chronic oxidative stress related diseases such as the metabolic syndrome and renal failure. In the future, chitosan and related nanofibers with presumed antioxidant properties may be used as a new source of antioxidant, as a possible food supplement, as an ingredient or in the pharmaceutical industry. Release control of fragrances by complexation with β-cyclodextrin and its derivatives T. Ishiguro Y. Sakata H. Arima D. Iohara M. Anraku K. Uekama F. Hirayama J. Incl. Phenom. Macrocycl. Chem., Vol. 92, pp.147-155 201830 DDOI: 10.1007/s1084 The release control of fragrances, benzyl acetate (BA), citral (CR), linalool (LL), citronellol (CL) and linalyl acetate (LA), was conducted using β-cyclodextrin (β-CyD), 2-hydroxypropyl-β-CyD (HP-β-CyD) and 2,6-di-O-methyl β-CyD (DM-β-CyD). The release of fragrances can be prolonged by the complexation with β-CyDs and their effects can be controlled by choosing appropriate CyD derivatives with higher Kc values and by setting proper concentrations of the host molecules.
